In the summer of 2013, NRI Civils put together an elite team of finely tuned athletes to take part in Tough Mudder, in aid of The Little Extras Appeal and raised a grand total of £1,090!!

Help us add the ‘little extras’ to the new Children’s and Adolescent Department! Last year 6,897 children were seen and treated on the Children’s Wards at Kettering General Hospital. The department plays a vital role in diagnosing, treating and caring for sick children admitted to KGH with various medical or surgical conditions. We aim to get children better as soon as possible and to help us do this; we’re building a new state of the art extension that will transform Paediatric Care. The innovative £30 million building, due to open in summer, will dramatically improve the environment that children and adolescents are treated in and will benefit thousands of patients  for generations to come.

The Little Extras Wish List. Going into hospital can be a traumatic experience for anyone (especially for a child), so that’s why it’s so important that we do all we can to provide the very best care, services and facilities, to ensure each child is as comfortable as possible during their stay. We’ve asked children on our wards to tell us exactly what will improve their experience at KGH and together with our Paediatric Team we’ve produced a ‘Children’s Wish List’ – this contains an array of creature comforts, play equipment, educational tools, games and toys, which are all designed to keep children busy, stimulated and happy! Giving children easy access to educational tools when they are unable to attend school and providing new toys/games to play with when they don’t have their friends around, all make an enormous difference to the physical and mental well being of a child and consequently the speed of their recovery. Therefore, we want to do all we can to provide the ‘little extras’ that make a BIG DIFFERENCE!
